Secondary School Head of Year

Due to a long-term absence, our client secondary located in Oldham wish to appoint a temporary head of year ASAP.

Applicants are required to have previous pastoral experience and experience working within secondary education (previous experience within a similar role will be advantageous).

• Full time Head of Year position ASAP start
• Covering long term temporary gap – ongoing for the foreseeable
• Non-teaching role, responsible for pastoral
• Pay negotiable with full confirmations TBC

This school is a large 11-16 academy school with an excellent reputation. This is a non-teaching based Head of Year post, where the successful applicant will hold a number of pastoral responsibilities for a year group including promoting the academic and social wellbeing of a year group of students, dealing with behaviour, liaising with parents and teaching staff about key issues and tracking students progress throughout.

Our client secondary is a modern, successful school with a mixed cohort, aged 11-16. The school is larger than most secondary schools with over 1300 pupils on roll, the large majority of those from local areas including Hollinwood and Hathershaw. The school serves a diverse catchment area with a number of students from minority ethnic backgrounds, adding to the community feel around school.

Located on the outskirts of Oldham, bordering Manchester, the school has excellent accessibility via the M60 ring road and has a nearby tram stop less than 5 minute walk away.
