Secondary School Cover Supervisor

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit further Secondary School Cover Supervisors for the Wigan LEA.

Highlights of a Cover Supervisor Role:

*Covering pre-set lessons in the absence of teachers

*Managing the behaviour of pupils effectively and ensuring the work set is completed

*Covering a range of classes in different subject areas with a range of pupils varying in ages (11-16) and ability.

* Using your degree qualification or previous experience to enhance learning opportunities in particular subjects e.g. English, Maths, Science, Drama or PE.

*Receive a weekly wage of up to £300.

As a Cover Supervisor within a Secondary school you will be covering the absence of the full class teacher. With learning materials and objectives already planned, your duty is to use your influential and enthusiastic personality to deliver lessons in the absence of pupils normal class teacher. Many of the schools we work with on a preferred basis are looking for confident people who are passionate about enhancing the learning experiences of the pupils.

We are seeking graduates who are looking to gain more experience prior to completing a PGCE. These roles are also ideal for sports coaches/people with a Drama background/youth workers who can utilise their ability to engage pupils to facilitate learning.

Many of the schools we work with across the Wigan LEA are as easily accessed on public transport as they are in a car. If there are particular schools you wish to work in, we will specifically focus on that.
