Are you a dedicated Maths teacher ready to take the next step in your career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Second in Mathematics to join a thriving secondary school in Andover, Hampshire, from September 2025.

About the Role:

As Second in Department – Mathematics, you’ll support the Head of Maths in driving up standards, leading on curriculum development, and inspiring a love of learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You’ll take on a key leadership role within a collaborative and high-performing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the strategic direction of the Maths department
  • Teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach at KS5 depending on experience
  • Leading on curriculum planning, assessment, and intervention
  • Supporting, mentoring, and developing less experienced colleagues
  • Using data to monitor student progress and drive achievement
  • Contributing to enrichment opportunities and maths-focused extra-curricular activities
  • Upholding the school’s strong culture of academic excellence and inclusion

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Maths subject specialism
  • A proven track record of excellent teaching and student outcomes
  • Leadership experience or readiness to step into a middle leadership role
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Experience working with SEND learners is highly desirable
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for professional development
