Job description

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Science Tutor to join our team and work with students in alternative provisions across Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to make a positive impact on the learning journeys of students who may not thrive in traditional school environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored Science lessons to students with diverse needs and abilities.

  • Support students in developing their knowledge and understanding of key scientific concepts.

  • Adapt lesson plans to suit individual learning styles, ensuring all students are supported and challenged appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a strong background in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) and experience delivering Science education at various levels.

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students who may face challenges in their education.

  • Be adaptable and able to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience working in alternative provision or with students with SEMH/SEN is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
