Science teacher - Wigan

Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our partner schools in Warrington to recruit for a Science Teacher on their behalf. This is a long term post that is due to start after the Easter holidays.

Due to an upcoming planned absence within the Science department, our high achieving partner school wish to appoint a Science Teacher on a temporary basis initially until the summer. There is also the possibility of a fixed term contract being offered after this initial supply period.

Science is a very popular subject at the school with many students achieving above the national average results at GCSE. The Head of Department is extremely dedicated to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of ability level, enjoy Science and has the opportunity to achieve the highest grades possible. Pupil's learning experiences are enhanced by several visits to nearby museums and Universities.

In its most recent Ofsted report, the school were praised for the progress the pupils make in Science. Further, pupil behaviour is considered to be good and they are respectful of the teaching staff.

The school is located close to Warrington town centre which makes it easily accessible from the surroundings areas. Golborne and Lowton are also only a short drive away.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
