SCIENCE TEACHER

Are you able to teach General Science up to KS4?

  • Northampton
  • KS3 and KS4
  • Pay: MPS/UPS
  • Role suitable for NQTs/ECTs

A secondary school in Northampton are seeking a Science Teacher to join their growing department.  Please note this is a General Science role – the ability to teach all 3 subjects to GCSE level is expected.

Requirements for this position:

  • Experience teaching in UK Secondary Schools
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality science lesson to years 7 – 11
  • Clear passion for the subject as well as outstanding subject knowledge
  • This role will involve delivering lesson to large classes, across a range of differing abilities.  Working closely with the students with specific needs (SEN/EAL etc) will be crucial in order to ensure that students reach their potential.

Other expectations:

  • Providing Subject Leaders/Heads of Department with regular feedback related to overall student progression.
  • Creating resources that have been effectively differentiated to meet individual needs.
  • Hold a strong knowledge of the differing ways in which children can retain information.
  • Being able to successfully display patience and resilience when looking to develop student knowledge, whilst always being on hand to manage any pastoral issues.
  • Implementing consistent behaviour management policies, making expectations for students as clear as possible.
  • Setting clear and concise learning objectives/goals, both in the short and long term.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
