We are seeking a Science Teacher to join a wonderful school based in Basingstoke on permanent basis from September 2022.

The school is a specialist provision for Years 7 to 11 who face challenges associated with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The Role:

As Science Teacher you will be teaching up to and including KS4 but with the understanding that some students work to a lower KS depending on their individual abilities. Your role will be to deliver high quality teaching and learning to young people with range of complex needs associated with SEMH. Students may also be on the autistic spectrum and have mental health and anxiety related conditions.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Experience in either Primary or Secondary settings
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD and ASD
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
