Science Teacher

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Teacher of Science, with any specialism, to join one of our partner schools over in the Durham area. The role is to bolster the department in the run up to the exam period, meaning that the successful Teacher will be taking on some GCSE classes across Key Stage 4 to deliver intervention and revision lessons to, in addition to teaching other Key Stage 3 classes. Whilst Key Stage 5 classes wont be on the timetable initially, if you can offer any Science subject to Key Stage 5 this could be arranged.

The Role

• Teaching Science to Key Stages 3 and 4, beginning ASAP and finishing at Summer 2020
• Planning and delivering revision and intervention lessons for mid-lower level GCSE classes (AQA Specification)
• Possibility of Teaching AS Level classes depending on the successful candidate's specialism
• Potential for the candidate to be offered a long term/permanent contract pending their performance

• Ofsted 'Outstanding' school on the outskirts of Durham City Centre
• Positive progress 8 score over the last 3 years within the Science department
• Enjoy a strong reputation throughout the area
• History of employing temporary staff for continuity therefore there is potential for the role to become permanent
