Full-time Science Teacher required from January for a 'Good' graded school in Wigan.

Teaching Personnel are in the process of recruiting a Science teacher for a smaller than average mixed comprehensive Secondary school. The school wish to appoint a Science teacher in order to cover a planned maternity gap and are offering employment on a 12 month basis from January 2019.

The Position

  • Science Teacher required on a full-time basis
  • Working within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school in Wigan.
  • Pay in line with newly introduced MPS/UPS scale (£23,720 - £39,406)
  • Must have experience teaching Biology, Chemistry or Physics at GCSE level.
  • Maternity Cover on a 12 month basis from January 2019.

Our client Secondary school wish to meet with interested candidates as a matter of urgency with the aim to successfully appoint the incoming Science teacher prior to January 2019.

In order to be considered for this Science teaching position, applicants must have experience teaching Chemistry, Biology or Physics at GCSE level and it would be beneficial in support of your application if you are able to teach another area within Science to KS3 level.

The Head of Science has highlighted that the incoming teacher must be able to deliver dynamic Science lessons to students across the age and ability range in a way which will inspire learning and create subject enthusiasm amongst their pupils.

The ability to carefully plan and prepare interactive and engaging Science lessons in line with schools curriculum is crucial.

The School

  • Our client Secondary school is smaller than the average Secondary school and currently has 800 pupils on roll.
  • The school is based on the outskirts of Wigan and is just minutes away from the A580.
  • There are an abundance of transport links in and out of Wigan and the school can be easily accessed from surrounding areas.
