A school in Stockport is seeking a General Science Teacher to join the teaching staff on an initial temporary basis.
The school requires a driven Teacher to join the team on a cover basi.
The role will involve the delivery of Science lessons, initlaly up to GCSE level. There is potential scope for some A-Level teaching to also become part of the timetable at a later date.
Requirements for this position are as follows:
- QTS.
- A Science related degree.
- A desire to readily improve student attainment, preparing students for exams and internal assessments.
- It is higly desirbale that the required person can teach 1 Science subject to A-Level.
The position will begin in January 2021 and will run until the Easter break within the first instance. There is potential that this role could be extended further.
The role will focus on:
- Devising strategies that maintain student engagement within the field of Science, including demonstrating safe use of practical equipment.
- Demonstrating a positive and motivating attitude at all times, in order to consistently keep students on task.
- Applying methods that cater for those with SEN, and being able to work with Teaching Assistants/School SENCO to ensure that these strategies are effective based on the individual student in question.
- Setting tasks that allow students to think independently, whilst also being able to offer 1:1 support when necessary.
- Communicating regularly with senior leaders and subject leaders, whilst being able to produce progress data when expected.
- Full planning and marking responsibilities.
Pay: GBP25,000 - GBP41,000 annually.
