Job description

A vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time position, ideal for a qualified teacher who is eager to make a positive impact in the classroom and contribute to a dynamic department.

The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking Science department, with access to modern facilities and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Teach a broad and balanced Science curriculum, with the ability to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental and national expectations

  • Use a range of strategies to support student progress, including those with varying learning needs and abilities

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity and a love for learning

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular clubs, trips, and STEM activities

  • Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and whole-school CPD

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in a Science-related subject

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level (including ECTs with relevant placement experience)

  • Strong subject knowledge and an ability to adapt teaching to meet student needs

  • Excellent classroom management skills and a positive, proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for Science and a desire to inspire young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
