Science Teacher

An SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Middlesbrough are in need of a science teacher to commence as soon as possible, initially you will hold this position until October half term however there is potential for extension.

The role will consist of working with Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils who are not in mainstream education for various reasons including challenging behaviour, social anxiety, ODD and ADHD. Experience managing challenging behaviour is mandatory and you will be confident working within pupil referral unit settings. You will also be confident teaching up to Key Stage 4 Science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, however most of the students are working at more of a Functional Skills Level. A Team Teachg qualification is desirable however not mandatory, so long as you are able to respond to challenging behaviours. The team of staff are extremely welcoming and will be available to support your integration to the school, you will be teaching classes of up to 8 pupils with a Teaching Assistant present.

This role will consist of working between the hours of 8:30-3:30 five days per week and there will be planning and marking involved. You will be supported by your own specialist SEN Recruitment Consultant and have access to exceptional CPD opportunities including CPD. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
