Science Teacher – Secondary School – Manchester (September Start)
Teaching Personnel is working with a high-performing secondary school in Manchester to recruit a committed and engaging Science Teacher for a full-time position beginning in September 2025. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or an enthusiastic ECT, this role offers a supportive environment and strong departmental leadership.
Main Duties:

Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science to mixed-ability classes
-
Delivering lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (flexibility based on specialism)
-
Preparing students for GCSE exams and tracking pupil progress
-
Contributing to curriculum planning, assessment, and department initiatives
-
Managing behaviour in line with school policy and building strong relationships with students
-
Participating in CPD, parents' evenings, and collaborative planning
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
Holds QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
-
Specialism in Science; all disciplines considered
-
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
-
Demonstrates passion for inclusive, student-centred education
-
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
Position Details:

Full-time, long-term role from September 2025

Potential for permanent school contract

Pay via Teaching Personnel: £140 to £210 per day, depending on experience and scale

Paid weekly via PAYE
-
Access to CPD and support from a specialist consultant throughout the assignment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
