Full-Time Science Teacher – Portland, Dorset
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Salary: Competitive – based on experience (MPS/UPS)

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for your next challenge? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Portland, Dorset, to recruit a talented Science specialist for a full-time role starting in September 2025.
The Role:
You will join a supportive Science department committed to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and ECTs (Early Career Teachers) seeking a nurturing environment to grow and develop.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
-
Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners
-
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
-
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and extra-curricular science activities
-
Collaborate with colleagues to raise attainment and student engagement
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
-
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (all sciences welcome)
-
Strong subject knowledge and passion for science education
-
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
-
A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
