Science Teacher

Location: Chorley

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: From £170 per day (dependant on experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator who can bring Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to life and motivate students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. As a key member of the Science Department, you will deliver engaging and well‑planned lessons that spark curiosity, build confidence, and drive excellent outcomes. You should be committed to raising attainment, fostering a love of learning, and creating a classroom environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons across KS3–KS4
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to stretch and challenge learners of all abilities
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Science curriculum
  • Maintain excellent behaviour and classroom management
  • Participate in department meetings, CPD, and whole‑school initiatives
  • Support students’ academic and personal growth

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science (any specialism considered)
  • A passion for inspiring young people
  • High expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Ability to differentiate lessons effectively
  • A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development
  • A team‑player with excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
