Science Teacher – Secondary School – Bridport

Full-Time | Permanent

A vibrant and ambitious secondary school in Bridport, Dorset is looking for a motivated Science Teacher to join its dynamic and friendly Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator or an enthusiastic ECT eager to begin their career in a school that values curiosity, ambition, and continual growth.

The Role

In this position, you will:

  • Teach engaging and well‑structured Science lessons to students across KS3 and KS4
  • Promote strong academic progress through high‑quality teaching and a broad, balanced curriculum
  • Use a range of assessment methods to monitor learning and shape future lessons
  • Build an inclusive and inspiring classroom atmosphere where all students feel supported
  • Play an active role in curriculum planning and departmental development
  • Get involved in wider school life, including clubs, events, and enrichment opportunities

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT close to completing their training
  • Confident delivering Science at KS3 and KS4 (any specialism is welcome)
  • Passionate about inspiring young people and creating engaging learning experiences
  • Reflective, forward‑thinking, and committed to professional development
  • Skilled in forming positive relationships and motivating students of all abilities

Requirements

  • QTS (or working towards QTS)
  • Strong understanding of the Science curriculum
  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher looking to develop their career within a successful, supportive secondary school in Bridport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
