Science Teacher – Secondary School – Dorchester
Full-Time | Permanent

A thriving and forward‑thinking secondary school in Shaftesbury, Dorset is seeking an inspiring Science Teacher to join its energetic and supportive Science department. The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, well‑planned Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Drive strong student progress through enthusiastic teaching and a broad curriculum
  • Use assessment strategies effectively to check understanding and inform lesson planning
  • Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment where every student can thrive
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing success of the department
  • Participate in wider school life, including clubs, events, and enrichment activities

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT nearing completion of training
  • Confident teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (all specialisms welcome)
  • Passionate about inspiring young people and delivering memorable lessons
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional growth
  • Skilled at building positive relationships and motivating learners of all abilities

Requirements

  • QTS (or working towards QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge across Science
  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher who wants to grow within a successful, supportive mainstream secondary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
