3 Days Per Week | From Easter

A welcoming and well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis (3 days per week) from Easter.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science specialist who is looking for a better work–life balance while continuing to make a meaningful impact in the classroom. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop both curiosity and confidence in the subject.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback

  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider school staff

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)

  • Has experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills

  • Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to student progress

  • Can commit to 3 days per week from Easter

The school offers a supportive leadership team, a collaborative department, and well-behaved, motivated students. This position would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT seeking part-time work within a positive school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
