Qualified Science Teacher

Teaching Personnel are the exclusive partner of a Secondary Academy seeking a Science Teacher to join them permanently from September 2025!

  • Location: Bedford
  • Start date: September 2025
  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent role
  • Pay: M1 - M6, UPS 1 -3

This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Science to join a large Secondary School in Bedford as they grow their Science Department. They have an excellent reputation in Bedfordshire for their outstanding outcomes for their pupils, especially in KS5. The modern facilities and investment they put into staff training is second to none.

As a Science Teacher, your timetable will be predominantly teaching GCSE Science to Key Stage 3 and Key stage 4. If you are able to specialise to teach A level Chemistry, Biology or Physics this is advantageous. You will have full teaching responsibilities and inspire students to achieve excellence to the AQA specification for GCSE.

Could this be you? Do you demonstrate:
- Passion for teaching Science
- PGCE Qualification specialising in Science or related-subject
- Excellent knowledge of GCSE Science is essential
- Excellent understanding of teaching Secondary age pupils
- A 'can do' and positive attitude to inspire pupils
- An ability to motivate and inspire, whilst using your own initiative
- Willingness to learn and support others
- Patient and friendly attitude
- High levels of resilience and emotional intelligence.

This is a large Secondary Academy well-established in the Bedfordshire area and reputable among parents and locals. The latest Ofsted has Outstanding outcomes to 1500 pupils Sixth Form. The school is positioned in a rural Bedfordshire area and best reached by car. The commute is doable for Teachers living in Bedford, Luton or Milton Keynes. The schools latest Ofsted report is Good (2024), noting that "Students enjoy studying here and treat each other and staff with high levels of dignity and respect. Students appreciate the way that staff recognise their maturity."
