We are working with a local FE provider to appoint a Teacher of Science to join their faculty in the new academic year are seeking an experienced Teacher of Science to join their thriving department for April '20 or sooner. The successful Candidate would be teaching at KS4 and 5 working within a supportive department of specialist practitioners. As a teacher within the Science department you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to mixed ability students, and to contribute to the departments journey of continually improving results. Ideally your specialism will be in Biology with the ability to teach the other Sciences when necessary.

The department is lead by its established and highly skilled Head of Faculty who has had a long standing career within the FE provision leading to a well organised team of practitioners who are sure of their teaching and confident and comfortable implementing change under the direction of excellent leadership. The site enjoys state-of-the-art facilities, with fully equipped Science labs and a wealth of resources. They have a large focus on technology with readily accessible laptops and computers in the department and Ipad with relevant educational apps to help all learners of all abilities.

The successful Candidate must:

• Be educated to at least Degree level, with Qualified Teacher Status or comparative Overseas Teacher Training
• Have recent experience of UK curriculum and relevant exam boards
• Be an inspiring educator, passionate about science teaching, with the ability to enthuse others
• Have proof of right to work in the UK, a UK/EU Passport or valid Biometric Residence Permit

This post is for a fixed term contract of 1 academic year with the potential to remain if a long-standing position become available. The College are able to support and NQT through their first year of training making it suitable for a candidate with a recent FE PGCE of Science PGCE with an interest in teaching in a higher education facility.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
