School Intervention Specialist

Are you a recent graduate of any core subject; English, Maths or Science?

If so a number of our client secondary schools located in Cardiff & The Vale of Glamorgan have expressed their need for intervention specialists to support with pupil catch ups this term. As an intervention specialist your role will be to provide additional learning support and guidance to pupils who are struggling with core subjects and the school have identified the need of more support due to the disruptive nature of the COVID-19 Lockdown.                                                               

In the past these interventions have worked well as graduates across the subjects have been able to give expert advice and give more thorough and in depth support to small groups or 1:1 with pupils.

Within this job role you will be working closely with the head of the learning support unit to aid with the curriculum supporting pupils alongside their normal lessons. At times these pupils will need require interventions to support with their exams and extra support in their exams in terms of reading and scribing, therefore excellent communication skills are imperative.

The position is to start on a full time basis with the potential of continuing through till the end of the academic year.

Key Requirements for the role:

• Excellent Communication skills
• Core Subject degree is preferred but not essential
• The ability to provide a high level of support by quickly building relationships
• Proactive approach to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
