Administrative Assistant  - Full time – Bradford

A Pupil Referral Unit in Bradford are seeking an Administrative Assistant for 5 days a week to be split between a very busy front of house office and visitors reception.

Due to the needs of students, the candidate must be able to work in a very challenging environment. Pupils can display verbally aggressive behaviour (e.g. banging on windows/swearing).

The role will be to undertake general reception duties, greeting parents, pupils and external agencies, answering the telephone, making calls home to parents. You will complete  administrative duties to include typing minutes, photocopying, updating spreadsheets, student records and writing reports. You will also be responsible for attendance monitoring and maintaining accurate data from class registers.

The successful applicant will:

  • Display an outgoing personality, with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure in a very busy office with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Have experience across Microsoft Office packages, SIMS and CPOMS
  • Have prior experience of working in a school office environment
  • Possess a knowledge of admissions, referrals and SEN
