Job description

Salaried Teacher Training Programme - Manchester

Earn While You Train | Start ASAP or January 2027 | £23,000-£27,000

Have you been thinking about becoming a teacher but want to gain classroom experience before committing to teacher training?

Teaching Personnel is working with a thriving secondary school in Manchester to recruit graduates and aspiring teachers for a fully salaried, two-year route into teaching. Whether you're available to start immediately or looking for a January 2027 start, this programme offers the opportunity to earn while you learn and build a successful career in education.

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates and career changers who are passionate about making a difference to young people's lives and want a structured pathway into the teaching profession.

Your Two-Year Journey Into Teaching

Year 1 - Future Teacher / Cover Supervisor

During your first year, you'll become a valued member of the school community, developing the skills, confidence, and experience needed to progress into teacher training.

You will:

  • Lead lessons using work set by teaching staff
  • Support students in their learning and development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils across the school
  • Develop classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Learn from experienced teachers through observations and coaching
  • Take part in ongoing training and professional development
  • Gain first-hand insight into effective teaching and learning

Rather than being thrown in at the deep end, you'll be supported every step of the way by experienced staff who are committed to helping you develop as an educator.

Year 2 - Teacher Training

Following a successful first year, you'll progress onto an Ofsted-rated 'Exceptional' teacher training programme, continuing to work within a school while completing your training.

You'll work towards:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • Becoming a confident and effective classroom practitioner

Throughout your training year, you'll receive expert mentoring, instructional coaching, and research-informed professional development designed to help you thrive in the classroom.

Why Choose This Route?

This programme is built around the belief that great teachers are developed through a combination of practical experience, excellent mentoring, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You'll benefit from:

  • A salary of £23,000-£27,000 throughout the programme
  • Fully funded PGCE and QTS
  • No tuition fees
  • Two years of paid experience in a secondary school
  • Dedicated mentoring and personalised support
  • Exceptional teacher training with strong employment prospects
  • A focus on professional growth, wellbeing, and long-term career development
  • The opportunity to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders every day

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from individuals who:

  • Hold a UK bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Are considering a long-term career in teaching
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are resilient, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Can build positive relationships with young people
  • Are passionate about helping students achieve their potential

No previous teaching experience is required. Whether you're a recent graduate or looking for a new challenge, this programme provides the support and training needed to take your first steps into teaching.
