Royal Oak Behaviour Mentor Required - Primary School

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Year 1 Behaviour Mentor to work in a 2 form entry school located close to Queens Park Tube Station. The role requires someone resilient but enables a real chance to make a positive impression on specific pupils within the school.

The Position

The role is a Behaviour Mentor to work primarily within a Year 1 class that has 29 pupils. There are 2 pupils in particular that require additional support with behaviour which the role will focus on. As the role develops you will also start spending time with other pupils around the school. Supporting academic performance, installing positive behaviour and helping to manage the wider classroom management are all key to this role.

Hours will be 8:30-4pm on Monday to Friday and it will be a long term contract until the end of the academic year if successful. Pay will be between ÂŁ65-ÂŁ75 per day depending on experience.

To Be Successful

Candidates with the following are more likely to be shortlisted:

  • Psychology Degree or Childhood Related qualification.
  • At least 1 Year experience working with children that come from challenging backgrounds (school based or other relevant).
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques or previous counselling experience.
  • Able to commit long term until the end of the academic year.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
