Residential Learning Support Assistant

Are you experienced in supporting young people with Autism? Are you looking for a a new opportunity to combine skills in residential and learning support? Then we want to hear from you! 

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEN provision in Gosforth, who are in need of several support assistants to work with their young people at varying times. This is a residenital setting with a large focus on delivering independent living and social skills, therefore ideally you will have a background in supporting the personal and academic development of young people (for example helping to manage spending and travel). Some roles may involve small elements of personal care, so you will be confident in this. 

Qualifications such as Team Teach, Moving and Handling, Autism Awareness or PECS training are extremely beneficial but not mandatory.

There are a variety of shifts available and some may include evening and night work, however we would like to hear from you no matter what your availability as we can be accomodating for the right candidate. If you are successful then this role will be held for the duration of the academic year with potential for permanemt contracts. You will also have access to excellent CPD opportunities including Team Teach. Although these positions are based in Gosofrth, there could also be opportunity for roles in Sunderland in the future. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
