Temporary Teacher of RE

A modernised Academy in Portsmouth are in search of a Teacher of RE to step in to cover in the prolonged absence of a staff member. The school are ideally looking for an experienced practitioner who can continue to create and deliver innovative lessons within their subject. The school strongly believe in nurturing their pupils throughout their time in education to build positive learning habits for life beyond school. They inspire and ignite areas of interest in pupils so they are able to take their favourite subjects and further their knowledge and skill sets in those areas.
The school recently had a large renovation and Humanities is taught in a brand new state of the art facility with integrated technology, large classrooms and areas for teachers to relax in and focus on PPE undisturbed. The school is a short distance from the nearest train station and is easily accessible via the motorway for drivers. On site, the school have a year 6 unit in which local schools will frequently teach within to allow pupils to understand and be better equip for the transition ahead. You'll have the opportunity within your timetable to meet with upper key stage students who are looking to begin with the academy in the new academic year.
The Humanities department is currently run by a head of faculty with department leads in place for RE, History and Geography. Most subjects are taught by specialists, though sometimes your timetable may include lower levels of Geography and History.
Ideally you will have:
- UK QTS or overseas clearance
- Previous RE/Humanities Teaching experience
- An forward thinking attitude towards learning
- A passion for your subject and its teaching within the curriculum
- An open mind to working with students from a variety of backgrounds
- The ability to create diverse lessons to engage all learning styles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
