Governors at a school in the Accrington area are currently seeking to appoint an RE Teacher to their Humanities team.

The school is a successful 11-16 provision with approximately 1000 pupils on roll. Having recently gone through a monitoring inspection the current OFSTED judgement is requires improvement. The schools vision for improvement has been highlighted as a strength and there is a strong confidence about achieving a 'Good' judgement at their next inspection.

The RE department is a highly regarded department within school. The recently appointed head of department is committed to building a team of outstanding practitioners. In collaboration with an 'Outstanding' Partner school, this is an excellent opportunity for a forward thinking, committed and inventive Teacher to join a well-supported and highly achieving department. Applications will be considered from candwell beingidates of all experience. An induction process is available for all staff, including NQT's looking for their first teaching role.

The successful candidate will receive:

  • 12-month Temporary position with view to a permanent position
  • Pay in line with experience (MPS)
  • Nationally recognised CPD and excellent career progression opportunity

  • Successful and welcoming department

Candidates considering this role must:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in religious studies or related subject
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or be due to gain this in summer 2019
  • Be a forward thinking practitioner with a desire to create an outstanding learning environment
  • Share a committed attitude to the safety and of all pupils
