Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Join a vibrant secondary academy in Manchester, seeking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant on a full-time temporary basis.

This role is suited to any Psychology graduates looking to pursue a career in education or educational support roles.

The successful Graduate will work in the schools Special Educational Needs department and will assist in the support and integration of children with Special Educational Needs both as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • To work with individuals and small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work.
  • To establish a supportive and motivational relationship with all students.
  • To be aware of student individual needs and to respond to them appropriately.
  • To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • To encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • To attend to the students’ personal needs, including social, health, physical and welfare matters.

This popular secondary school is located in central Manchester and has over 1000 pupils on roll. The school has an inner city catchment area providing education for a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. The school has a large state-of-the-art building and a large car park accessible for all staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
