Position: Teaching/Learning Support Assistant (SEND)
Location: Secondary and SEN Schools across Wirral
Start Dates: ASAP and September 2025

Are you a recent Psychology (or related field) graduate with a passion for helping young people thrive? Do you want to gain hands-on experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? If so, Teaching Personnel Liverpool wants to hear from YOU!

Why This Role?

As a Teaching or Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people with a variety of SEND needs – including autism, ADHD, social and emotional difficulties, and more. You'll be working closely with experienced educators and SEND professionals in Secondary and Specialist Schools across Wirral, helping students achieve their full potential.

This is an amazing opportunity to:

  • Gain practical experience in educational psychology, SEN teaching, or youth support
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who truly benefit from your support
  • Build a rewarding career in education, mental health, or social care

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field (e.g., Education, Child Development, Sociology)
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Patience, resilience, and a strong sense of empathy
  • Availability to work full-time (Mon–Fri), either immediately or from September
  • Experience with SEND (in any setting) is desirable, but not essential – we provide training!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
