Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

A Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in the Wirral is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent psychology graduates, individuals with experience in youth work, care, SEN, or educational support, and those looking to build a career in education or mental health.

About the Role:

You will work closely with students with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential. Under the guidance of the SENCo and teaching staff, you will provide in-class, small group, and 1:1 support across a range of subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Foster positive relationships to promote emotional and social development
  • Support teaching staff in managing classroom behaviour and implementing individual learning plans
  • Assist with tracking student progress and adapting strategies accordingly
  • Encourage independence and a growth mindset in all learners

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Experience in support work, mentoring, youth work, or a school setting is beneficial
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
