Psychology graduate Teaching assistant - Bury

A large primary school in Bury (BL9) is looking for a psychology graduate to use their graduate and theoretical knowledge to work with a child with Autism in Year 3. The child has just received their Educational Health Care plan and the Head teacher is looking for a graduate to support the pupil in the class room and help raise attainment with emotional and academic support.

The pupil has low functioning Autism and is behind in their learning. This role will involve 1:1 support in the class room and leading interventions outside of the class room. The pupil is currently working at a reception level and requires a patient and understanding teaching assistant to support them academically.

A successful applicant should:

  • Hold either an educational or psychology based degree
  • Have experience working with young children
  • Have a caring and understanding nature
  • Have strong communication skills

This role will be perfect for someone looking to do a PGCE course or pursue a career in educational psychology in the future.

  • £285-£300 a week
  • Start date - 2nd September 2018
  • Bury (BL9) primary school

The school has previously been graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted and has a warm and welcoming community ethos that is promoted throughout all Key Stages. The Head teacher wants a passionate and energetic graduate to come in and support the same family ethos. The graduate will be supported by a strong senior leadership team with opportunities to further personal development with CPD courses.
