Here at Teaching Personnel we work with a number of schools over South Wales that currently have vacancies for their 2017-2018 School year.
We are now looking for Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream schools and have found that Psychology graduates or those with similar degrees are excelling in this area.
These opportunities are an invaluable to test your behaviour management skills and confidence within the classroom. The role of a Teaching Assistant will often involve working with pupils with challenging behaviour and supporting on a both social and educational level. Becoming a Behaviour Teaching Assistant will give you great experience to build upon, especially for those looking to apply for a PGCE in the future.
Requirements for Teaching Assistant Roles:
- Previous school based experience desirable but not essential
- Two references that can be contacted
- You will be paid between £50-£60per day
- Holding a driving license is advantageous
- The ability to confidently support various situations that may arise
Working alongside children with challenging behaviour can be very rewarding and for the right candidate can be the invaluable experience to develop and grow into a well rounded teaching assistant. Challenging behaviour can come in all forms and often needs to be dealt with by using various methods including de-escalation and 1:1 support. Here at Teaching Personnel we offer CPD courses throughout the year such as Safeguarding and Team teach Training that can prepare you throughout your journey as a Teaching Assistant.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
