Job Opportunity: Psychology Graduates – SEN Support Roles
Full-Time | Wirral | Immediate Start Available

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to take your first step into the education sector?
Do you have a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN), including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD?

A group of alternative provision schools across the Wirral are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and compassionate Psychology graduates to join their supportive teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while making a real difference to the lives of young people.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.

  • Using your Psychology background to better understand and respond to individual needs.

  • Building strong, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, supported, and engaged.

  • Managing challenging behaviour with confidence and resilience.

  • Assisting in the creation and delivery of personalised learning plans (IEPs).

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.

  • Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback to support student development.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology (or a closely related field).

  • Genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.

  • Understanding of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and associated learning needs.

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills.

  • Confidence in managing behaviour in a calm and positive way.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working with SEN students or in an educational environment.

  • Additional SEN-related training or qualifications.

  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing personality.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
