Job Title: Psychology Graduate – 1:1 Support for Year 7 Pupil
Location: Vale of Glamorgan, Barry CF62
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
Start date: 1st September 2025.
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychology Graduate to provide one-to-one support for a Year 7 pupil with trauma and behavioural needs. This role is pivotal in enhancing the pupil’s emotional wellbeing, supporting their transition from primary to secondary school, and assisting with academic work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored emotional and behavioural support on a daily basis.
- Work closely with the pupil to build trust, resilience, and self-confidence.
- Support the pupil’s smooth transition into secondary school life.
- Assist with school work and encourage positive learning habits.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.
Person Specification:
- Degree in Psychology or related field.
- Experience or interest in working with children who have experienced trauma or behavioural challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours & Contract:
- Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM.
- Term time only.
- Pay: £90 daily rate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
