Full-Time Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their educational journey?
A warm and welcoming secondary school in Barry is seeking a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 7 pupil who has recently transitioned from primary school.
About the Role:
- Monday to Friday, term time only
- September 2025 start – full academic year (July 2026)
- 08:15am – 15:15pm
- £90 per day
- Based in a lovely and supportive secondary school in Barry
- Supporting a Year 7 pupil with a background of trauma and behavioural needs
This pupil will be accessing mainstream lessons, and your role will involve helping them settle into secondary school life, providing consistency, emotional support, and helping them stay engaged in learning. They are sweet-natured and bright, but need a nurturing, patient, and firm approach to thrive in their new environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- ✅ Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (essential)
- ✅ A calm, confident, and resilient personality
- ✅ Ability to build trust and set firm boundaries
- ✅ A background in Psychology or similar is highly desirable
- ❌ Childcare qualification not necessary

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
