Primary Teaching Assistant

We are currently working with a local Cambridgeshire primary school, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team on an immediately permanent basis. The role is 5 days per week between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm and is commutable from Littleport, Chettisham, Little Downham, Ely, Sutton, Witchford, Soham, Prickwillow, Mildenhall, Stretham, Wilburton, Haddenham, Wicken, Downham Market, Chatteris, Newmarket, March, Thetford and Wisbech.

The successful candidate will find themselves in a position, where no two days are the same. On a Monday, you may find yourself supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and on a Tuesday, you may be required to work as a ‘General’ Teaching Assistant supporting all pupils as and when required. Other general duties will include:

• Helping children with reading.
• Providing support on school trips.
• Supporting children with literacy and numeracy skills.
• Helping with classroom preparation.
• Working with children with challenging behaviour or Special Educational Needs (Autism, ADHD)
