We are looking to for teaching assistants available on a full-time basis to work with primary schools in the Cambridge area from October half term 2020. Posts may see you providing varied support to; small groups of children, 1:1 support and general class support throughout the primary age. You will work during school hours from Monday -Friday, totalling 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities;

  • Work closely with the class teacher and other staff members to provide the best support for pupils
  • Help with preparation and planning of activities and lessons
  • Guide the child/children with different learning styles to ensure they are getting the full benefit from the lesson
  • Ensure a safe place of work for the child and other students within the classroom
  • Reporting of any issues, in line with the school policies and procedures
  • Communicating effectively with pupils, staff, parents and carers where necessary 
  • Ad hoc admin/general duties where necessary 
  • Working with small groups and 1:1

Requirements for the role;

  • Passionate about primary education 
  • Experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis that can be referenced 
  • Safeguarding training 
  • A DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
  • A UK address and right to work
  • Flexibility in terms of transportation
  • Strong behaviour management skills 
  • Relevant qualifications – desirable not mandatory

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
