Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Waterlooville)

A friendly and supportive primary school in Waterlooville is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant with SEN knowledge to join their team.

This is a varied role, combining both SEN support and general classroom duties. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the class, while also providing targeted support for children with additional needs.

The Role:

  • Support pupils within the classroom to access learning

  • Provide additional support for children with SEN (including small group or 1:1 work)

  • Assist the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities

  • Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment

  • Adapt resources and support strategies to meet individual needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting

  • Knowledge or experience of supporting children with SEN

  • A proactive, flexible, and positive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development

Details:

  • Full-time role

  • Location: Waterlooville

  • Start date: After Easter

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
