Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant with a Sports Background

The Role:
As a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant with a sports background, you will work alongside our classroom teachers to provide tailored support to children, helping them excel both academically and physically. You’ll be supporting pupils in class and leading small groups in physical activities that enhance learning, boost teamwork, and develop motor skills. Your knowledge of sports and active learning will inspire children to engage, stay active, and develop essential skills for life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of engaging lessons, supporting students with their academic progress.

• Lead small group activities, including sports-based learning and physical education sessions.

• Encourage teamwork, cooperation, and physical well-being through sports and physical activities.

• Support children with different learning needs and ensure they feel included and motivated.

• Provide feedback and observations to the teacher on students’ progress and development.

• Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, active learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, ideally in a Key Stage 2 setting.

• A background in sports or physical education (e.g., sports coaching or related qualifications).

• A passion for active learning and promoting physical activity.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

• A proactive, positive approach and an ability to motivate and inspire students.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
