Support Assistant required for primary class with PMLD

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a full time support assistant to work in a school for children aged between 2-19 years with a range of special educational needs. This specific position will be working in a key stage 1 class with students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school prides itself on promoting independence, valuing all achievements and ensuring all students have a positive learning experience in school.

Your role will be to work as a team with all staff in the class to support all the students with various aspects of their daily routine. The class structure involved a lot of sensory interaction, speech and language development sessions and interactive learning. You will be required to assist with engaging all students in these areas, as well as helping with administering medication, personal care, feeding and hydrotherapy sessions. Previous experience or training in these areas is highly recommended, however the school will be happy to consider applications from anyone who shows an empathetic and proactive personality.
