Job Opportunity: Experienced Primary Teacher (QTS) with SEN Expertise

Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience across EYFS to Year 6? Do you have a strong background supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled teacher to join a mainstream school’s resource base, supporting children with ASD and ADHD. Many of these children are non-verbal and require personal care, so experience in this area is essential. Most of the children are in Key Stage 1 but are working at an EYFS developmental level, meaning your flexibility and expertise across these stages will be invaluable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to children with SEN in the resource base

  • Provide personal care and support to non-verbal children with ASD and ADHD

  • Collaborate closely with mainstream class teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning

  • Implement effective strategies to support behaviour, communication, and social skills development

  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting approaches to meet individual needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary teaching experience across EYFS to Year 6

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD and ADHD

  • Confidence and skill in supporting non-verbal pupils requiring personal care

  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Contract Details:

  • Long-term role until the end of the academic year

  • Opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
