Location: Rugby
Salary: Paid to Scale
Start Date: November 2025

A well-regarded specialist provision in a mainstream Primary School in Rugby is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs at a small, friendly and supportive Primary school.

The Role:

You will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised lessons to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. There are several experienced support staff in the classroom who hold in depth understanding of the children and their needs to assist with daily routines

You will be teaching and supporting a small group of children in KS1 and KS2 all working at KS1 level in the Nurture Room.

The school hold huge importance on getting children outside and active, with morning activity to start every day for the children in the Nurture Room and beautiful outdoor spaces being used at break times, for outdoor learning and forest school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with pupils’ EHCPs
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Track and report on student progress and adapt planning as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff members, external professionals, and families
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Enhanced Child’s DBS subscribed to the Update Service
  • Must have experience teaching students with SEN in mainstream or specialist settings
  • Strong understanding of strategies for differentiation and behaviour management
  • Flexible approach to teaching, adapting the timetable to individual needs
  • Ability to support with personal care responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with support staff, SLT and parents/ carers
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to teaching
