Position Overview: As a Geography Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring and educating students from diverse backgrounds. Your passion for geography will be the catalyst for sparking curiosity and critical thinking skills in our learners. Through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, and real-world examples, you will help students develop a profound appreciation for the intricacies of our planet.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver dynamic lessons that align with curriculum standards and cater to students' diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to participate.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, including technology and experiential learning, to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
  • Incorporate current events, global issues, and interdisciplinary connections to enrich students' understanding of geography's relevance in the modern world.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular concepts and promote a holistic approach to education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification/license (or in the process of obtaining certification).
  • Previous experience teaching geography at the middle or secondary school level is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of geographic concepts, spatial thinking, and global issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for fostering a positive learning environment and nurturing students' intellectual curiosity.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current trends and best practices in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
