Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an outstanding Key Stage 1 Teacher for an alternative provision in Fulford, York. This position is to commence as soon as possible, however applicants with all availability will be considered.
The School
An OFSTED graded 'Good' School that provides education for students unable to access mainstream education. The School have provisions for both Primary and Secondary aged pupils. Students work from personalised learning plans, with their day made up of class learning and 1:1 learning. The needs of the students vary from EAL, SEMH, ASC, MLD & Behavioural Difficulties.
The Role
Delivering the national curriculum to a class sizes of either 7 or 8 students with additional support from at least 2 Teaching Assistants in the classroom. The class is mixed up of Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 students, based on the pupil's abilities. As the class teacher, you will be responsible for planning lessons and delivering to small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The pupil's follow the 'Letters and Sounds' Phonics Programme.
Ideal Requirements
- Hold UK QTS or equivalent
- Have at least 1 years experience within an SEN or alternative School
- Be familiar with 'Letters and Sounds', 'Read, Write, Inc' or 'Jolly Phonics' programmes
- Be outgoing, confident and have a charismatic personality, with an unbiased outlook on life
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
