Primary School Teacher – Flexible Supply Cover
Location: Sherborne and surrounding areas, Dorset
Contract Type: Flexible supply cover (with potential for longer-term placements)

About the Role

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Primary Teacher looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? We are currently seeking passionate and adaptable teachers to provide day-to-day and short-term cover in a range of primary schools across Sherborne and the surrounding areas.

For the right candidate, there is also the exciting possibility of moving into a longer-term role. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience, work across different year groups, and build strong relationships with schools in the local community – all while maintaining control over your working week.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and ensure continuity of learning.

  • Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

  • Bring positivity, creativity, and enthusiasm to each placement.

  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Recent experience teaching in primary schools.

  • Strong classroom management skills and confidence adapting to new settings.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.

  • Flexibility – whether you are available one day a week or five.

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
