Job description

Welsh-Speaking Year 2 Teacher – Full Time – Cardiff

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a Welsh-medium primary school in Cardiff, starting full-time in September 2025. This is a long-term opportunity within a well-established and forward-thinking school committed to delivering high-quality, bilingual education.

The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong community links, and creative curriculum built around the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons in Welsh across the Year 2 curriculum

  • Track pupil progress, complete assessments, and provide targeted support where needed

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, specialist staff, and families

  • Take an active role in whole-school life, events, and language promotion

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Fluent in Welsh (spoken and written)

  • Experience teaching in the Foundation Phase or Key Stage 1

  • A strong understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and child-centred practice

  • Passionate about Welsh language education and supporting pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
