Primary Teacher & TA
Job description

♀️ Primary Education Needs You
Flexible Teaching & Support Roles Across the East Sussex Coast
Calling all classroom heroes, calm-in-a-crisis legends, and budding brilliant educators.
Teaching Personnel are assembling our next elite team — and you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
My name is Gabriel and I’m Teaching Personnel’s East Sussex Primary consultant.
I’m on a mission to build a reliable, high-quality education team with a range of abilities, knowledge and experience to cover my schools from Peacehaven through Newhaven, Seaford, Hailsham and Eastbourne.
With a background in events management and estate agency, I know that success depends on getting the right people in the right places, fully briefed, well supported - ready to provide pupils with the best possible care and education.
Rather than sending you into a single posting and wishing you luck, I partner with a range of primary schools across the area, offering a variety of roles, year groups, and working patterns.
The goal?
Educators who feel confident, supported, and able to do their best work — without burning out.
If you’re looking for flexibility, variety, a reset, or a fresh direction in primary education, this is for you.
What’s on Offer?
Roles vary depending on your skills, availability, and superpowers, but may include:
- Primary teaching roles across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Teaching Assistant or Specialist TA positions
- Short-term, long-term, or ongoing placements
- Full-time or part-time opportunities
Some educators prefer stability and a regular base.
Others thrive on variety and new environments.
We support both, no matter your working style.
Who Should Enquire?
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold QTS and are open to full-time or supply work
- Have experience working with children (education, childcare, tutoring, youth work, coaching, etc.)
- Are calm under pressure, adaptable, and good at building positive relationships
- Enjoy supporting children’s learning and development
- Prefer flexibility rather than being tied to one permanent post
Previous primary school experience is helpful, but not essential. Many roles include on-the-job support — reliability, attitude, and a willingness to learn are just as important as experience.
Why Register Instead of Applying for One Role?
Think of registration as joining the team, not just taking a single placement.
You’ll gain access to:
- Multiple primary school opportunities between Peacehaven and Eastbourne
- Tailored approach and ongoing support
- Honest insight into school environments (no nasty surprises)
- Greater control over where, when, and how you work
- Ongoing placements without reapplying every time
- A dedicated consultant who understands classroom realities — not just CVs
- The award-winning Teaching Personnel’s myTP app allowing for stress-free booking management, real-time updates, and fewer emails to chase
The Practical Stuff
- Roles available across the Eastbourne area
- Immediate and upcoming opportunities
- Pay varies by role:
- Teaching roles paid to scale
- Teaching Assistant / LSA roles paid at £89.38 per day
- A child-only DBS is required for school-based work (support available if needed)
