Job Advert: Primary Teacher (Year R- Year 6 class cover – Full Time)

Location: Hythe, Southampton 
Contract: Full-time until end of the academic year 
Start: January 2027
Salary: £130 - £145 day rate 

A lovely, welcoming mainstream primary school in the Hythe area is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join the team covering classes throughout the whole school where needed on a full time basis. This is a supply teaching teaching role within a supportive and well-resourced school environment.

About the Role

You will work throughout Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, delivering high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the classroom effectively, ensuring all pupils make strong progress both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons provided by the class teacher
• Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching where necessary
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers
• Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have experience teaching within a primary setting 
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning
• Be flexible, reliable and a positive team player

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
