Salford
Start Date: September
Monday – Friday, Full-Time

Are you a confident, adaptable individual with a passion for supporting young people? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to work full-time in a specialist educational setting in Salford from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children aged 5–11 years who require additional support with their learning and development.


About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of class teachers. You will work closely with a supportive team to ensure pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on track, both academically and socially.

The setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD and associated behavioural needs

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Manage classroom behaviour in a calm, consistent and positive manner
  • Support pupils to stay engaged and focused on their learning
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Adapt approaches to meet individual learning and emotional needs
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, care or similar)
  • Confidence leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively
  • A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

A background in education or experience with SEMH/ASC is highly desirable, but not essential—full support and guidance will be provided.
