Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley (Secondary SEN School)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Hourly Rate: £13.75
Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing

As part of this team, you’ll play an important role in providing tailored support to students with complex learning needs, ensuring they have the best opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with PMLD, both in and out of the classroom.

  • Assist with personal care and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for students.

  • Support teachers in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and personal care routines.

  • Work closely with other staff members to monitor students’ progress and adjust support as needed.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting students with PMLD or a passion for working in this field.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of each student.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting students and staff.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
